R2-KT’s man servant Al reaches out to share the new Ladies of the Galaxy! R2-KT patch designed by Ivan Castillo to celebrate March’s Women’s History Month and March 8th’s International Women’s Day.
March 8th was International Women’s Day and all of March is Women’s History Month in the U.S. To celebrate this remarkable occasion we asked Ivan Castillo to create a beautiful memento. And he did! We present to you: “Ladies of the Galaxy!” KT hanging with some of the coolest Star Wars heroes, enjoying the fun ritual of the selfie! There’s so much attitude in this one photo, so much sincere happiness and celebration. It is so cool to see our favorite pink droid get in on the act.
Ivan’s account of creating this masterpiece:
“We usually see heroes on adventures. I asked myself, “How do they behave during downtime?” Probably the same way we do. They’d share some laughs and snap a photo to remember the moment. March is “Women’s History Month” in the USA. So I chose several ladies of the Star Wars galaxy taking a quick selfie. They can be fearless and courageous, but also playful and lighthearted.”Beautifully said, Ivan. This is a month that means so much to the human race. Celebrating women and their achievements could be a year-round event. We are grateful to be a part of this and we hope you find inspiration and joy in this ingenious design.
