Issue 129 of the monthly Blocks magazine is out now featuring reviews of the latest LEGO sets, a look at the new LEGO Icons Book Nook format including Sherlock Holmes (10351), plus the LEGO Star Wars designers reveal their favourite sets.
Blocks, the monthly magazine for LEGO fans, is investigating a brand-new format from LEGO Icons in Issue 129. The team behind 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook reveal how they developed the new concept. Elsewhere in this edition, Blocks goes deep into a beautiful Venice MOC, Star Wars designers reveal their favourite sets and the team reviews the new Jurassic World Rebirth models.
Issue 129 is available to order worldwide as part of a subscription or as a single issue at blocksmag.com and will be in UK stores from July 4.
To celebrate the new magazine, Blocks has deals available – if you take out a 12 month print subscription, you’ll get a FREE exclusive Blocks postie minifigure (that uses authentic LEGO elements). If you go for a 24 month print subscription, then you’ll also get TWO FREE LEGO polybags. Order before June 30 to get the extras.
Every month there’s a prize to win for subscribers – Blocks is giving away Icons 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger! To be in with a chance of winning, take out a subscription before July 31, 2025.
Design Master Antica Bracanov came up a whole new format for LEGO sets – presenting them as book nooks. She and her design colleagues reveal how that unique idea led to the creation of 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook. It certainly wasn’t elementary!
In this month’s Build & Chat, Senior Design Master Wes Talbott reveals how he joined the LEGO Group when creating concepts for what became Elves. During a sprawling conversation, he talks about working on that fantasy theme before moving on to beloved franchises like The Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons and Disney.
Bart Deliën was inspired by a specific game when he crafted his enormous, historical Venice model – Assassin’s Creed. His creation goes far beyond the story though, giving life to the Italian city as it was in 1486. This new regular feature not only showcases the masterpiece model but also reveals some of the great techniques within it.
The LEGO Group has returned to Springfield with 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger and the refined dining establishment gets a rating in this issue’s Reviews section. There’s also a look at the new Jurassic World Rebirth sets to see if you should add them to your dinosaur collection.
That’s just a taste of what’s in Blocks, the monthly magazine for LEGO fans, Issue 129. Within this 116-page magazine you’ll also find exclusive instructions to build a Creeper, a look at the Brick Orpheus exhibition, classic sets from 2005 and much, much more.
