Ahmed Best, the actor behind Jar Jar Binks and Jedi Knight Kelleran Beq, and Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor John Knoll are attending Star Wars Celebration Japan between April 18th – 20th, 2025, at the Makuhari Messe in Japan.
Best’s motion capture and voice performance first helped bring Jar Jar to life for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace more than 25 years ago. In the years since, he’s played the character in every prequel film, voiced Binks in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and mostly recently put a new twist on the character as Darth Jar Jar in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. But fans will also recognize his face as the esteemed Jedi who rescued a young Grogu from Order 66 in Season 3 episode of The Mandalorian.
Plus, Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor John Knoll will be on hand to share his nearly four decades of experience at Industrial Light & Magic.
Knoll, who also co-created Photoshop, has served as the visual effects supervisor on several Star Warsfilms and series including Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Mandalorian, and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
They join other guests including Doug Chiang, Anthony Daniels, Ashley Eckstein, Manny Jacinto, Daniel Logan, Diego Luna, Mads Mikkelsen, Temuera Morrison, Alan Tudyk and Sam Witwer. Find out more about Star Wars Celebration Japan here.
