Collider has revealed the cover for Kwame Mbalia’s Star Wars: The Last Order, a new Young Adult novel following Finn (John Boyega) and Jannah (Naomi Ackie) through an adventure against the First Order as they wrestle with the challenges from their pasts.
The Last Order picks up at the end of The Rise of Skywalker as the Resistance rescues a ship full of young passengers who were kidnapped by the First Order — just as Finn and Jannah were as children. As the two former stormtroopers set out to find the First Order officer responsible before he can endanger any more children, they must wrestle with their own complicated pasts as soldiers of the oppressive regime.
“So, I tweeted the version of that out, and it was up for, I want to say, a year and a half. Then I deleted it, one, because my agent was like, ‘Kwame, you’ve got to save your story ideas for you,’ and two, because Star Wars reached out and wanted to do a story, and I was like, ‘Oh, I want to do this. I want to pitch this story so badly.’ I think I have a printout of it somewhere in my desk. I printed it out as evidence that I did tweet this.”
The Last Order‘s stunning cover, which features Finn and Jannah in their stormtrooper amor, was created by designer Jason Wojtowicz and artist Kim Thompson. Read more about the book and cover here.
Star Wars: The Last Order is available from October 21st, 2025, and can be preordered now from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk — happy reading!
